Comments Requested for Battery-Electric Switcher Locomotive Program
On February 19, 2025, South Coast AQMD held a virtual workshop to gather input on the INVEST CLEAN project which will deploy at least 18 Battery-Electric Switcher Locomotives. Funding will be provided for the development and deployment of battery-electric switcher locomotives. The program also provides funding for the installation of chargers needed to operate these battery-electric switcher locomotives.
